Dave Dimond

I started in the Boston office in 1995 and worked throughout New England until 199X when we had the "Big East" then all over after the ATS practice became national.

I consider myself to be a hardcore ATS guy because I had a very rewarding career doing mostly technology and strategy work with a number very talented people at FCG.

I am proud to have shared the title of Technical Master with very talented peers who I would like to regroup with here at FCGAlumni.

I left FCG in 2004 to work for Mike Gorsage at Technology Solutions Company which has now morphed into Exogen.

Today I am working directly with alumni companies DxJunction.com, Results1st, and Culbert while also providing advisory services to LatticeCare, AwarePoint and a number of other companies in the imaging space. I blog at InsightForBetter.com about stuff I will instigate towards pursuit of PhD - come visit sometime (starting Q4 08).

I still live outside Boston with Lynne (4?), Danielle (17), Spencer (16), Sydnie (10) so if you are ever in the area please click on my name above to connect with me so we can catch up.

Best Roles: Utility Player, Coaching Technical Types, Selling the Invisible, Visionary Stuff

My Mantra: "Take a Position and Hope it Doesn't Suck"

Nick Names: The Junk Yard Dog of Consulting, The Nutty Professor, A Wire Licker, The Godfather of PACS

Good Times: FCGU, kicking the competition's ass at orals, leadership retreats in Vegas, Boston Office start-up years, ATS Boston team dinners at "the ballet", Big East leadership retreats, Airport to Arby's, best of voicemail (we need to get those from Joe Casper!)

Mentors / Sponsors: Way too many to list them all but Mike Gorsage, Joe Casper, Rick Kramer, Brent Hanson, Barbara Hoehn, Tom Reep, Craig Combs, Erica Drazen and Mary Franz come to mind as the key people who broke me in and/or helped to sponsor my career along the way.

Likes To: Dirt Bike, Mountain Bike, Innovate

Embarrassing Moment: Not being on mute during the staffing call when I ordered a six pack of tacos and someone said "Dimond's alone... do you think he is going to eat those all himself??"

Joe Lavelle

I started at FCG in the Dallas office in 1998 right after the company IPO. I spent the next 3+ years in San Francisco helping UCSF and Stanford merge, then get through Y2K and then de-merge. I then moved to Atlanta for a couple years but spent most of my time in DC at the Development Center in Vienna.   I finished my time at FCG working with great clients like OSF.

I am very proud to have been part of a great culture and great company for over 5 years and I still rely on the relationships that I built with great FCGer’s and clients.

I now live outside Boston with my wife Kate and 2 year old son Finlay. I have been working for myself for the past 3 years and have thoroughly enjoyed avoiding airplanes and hotels with “towels like sandpaper”. However, I often get nostalgic about the great times at FCG and I do think I will return to “big time” consulting so I can work with a large team of talented people on a regular basis again.

Best Roles: Utility Player, Coach, Picking up the Happy Hour check

My Mantra: "Act as if it were impossible to fail" Not so coincidentally, also the working title of my first book, currently under development.

Good Times: FCGU, March Madness, Boy’s trips to … Dallas, Vega$, San Francisco, DC; Party at Joe’s

Mentors / Sponsors: Too many to list them all but Joe Casper, Tom Hurley, Dave Dimond , Mike Garzone, John Stanley, Robert Lund and Mike Gorsage all took time to work with me to become a better consultant, leader and mentor.

Likes To: Anything at the Beach (real beaches with white sand and temperatures over 90
degrees); be a Dad.

Embarrassing Moment: Intoxication @ FCGU doesn’t count, right?
